A Favia is a type of large-polyp stony (LPS) coral, often referred to as a "Brain Coral" due to the grooved, neural-like pattern on its skeletal structure. It is a hardy, encrusting or dome-building coral known for its incredible diversity of colours and patterns. The polyps are often fleshy and can display a stunning array of colours, frequently with contrasting hues on the mouth and the body. Favia can extend sweeper tentacles at night to sting nearby corals. It is essential to provide it with ample space from its neighbours.
