Coral shipping in the UK: how it works, heat packs and what to do if something goes wrong

Live corals travel well when they are packed well and arrive quickly. This is how our shipping works, so you know what to expect before you order.

When we ship

We dispatch on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Order by 12:00 (noon) on a dispatch day for it to go the same day. Orders placed after that, or at the weekend, wait for the next dispatch day.

How it travels

Live corals go by Royal Mail Special Delivery by 1PM, which is normally next-day. UK delivery is a flat £14.75 per order, so it is cheaper to put several corals in one parcel. The zoanthids, mushrooms and other pieces all ride together.

Heat packs and the weather

We add heat packs when the weather needs them, depending on the weather. You can check the forecast for your postcode on our home page. If you have special requirements, such as delivery to a workplace, email us.

On delivery day

  • Open the parcel away from bright light.
  • Keep the corals in their sealed bag or cup until you are ready to acclimate. Our acclimation guide covers the steps.
  • Check each piece as you unpack it.

If something is wrong

If a coral arrives dead or in very poor condition, take a clear photo of it in its original unopened bag or cup within 2 hours of delivery and contact us. The remedy options are set out in our refund policy and shipping policy.
